URGENT – GDPR

Joerg K. asked 6 years ago
Hello Nikola, in regards to the new GDPR on May 23rd our appointment request forms do require an additional check box where users agree upon submitting the form that we collect and store their data for the purpose of making an appointment. This is an extra check box and shall not be combined with the already available check box about terms and conditions. To solve the issue (but this is still not a solution) I tried to combine both with the current single check box, however, this results into a very long string which is not accepting line breaks, means the string is going beyond the borders and truncated. Please give us a second check box for GDPR and make the field ready for long text strings with line breaks as well please. Many thanks! Cheers Joerg

We also need the ability from the GDPR check box to show a link to the data privacy page!

Hi Nikola,   in parallel to the check box "I agree with terms and conditions" we will need to have a second box that require to be checked before the form can be submitted. So please add a GDPR checkbox to Easy Appointments. By ticking this checkbox the visitors and customers explicitly allow us to handle their personal data for a defined purpose (i.e. arranging an appointment and communicate with them). I'm not an attorney or lawyer :) However, from what I can read we need the following:   Not checking the box will lead into an error message like: You need to accept the privacy checkbox. At the admin interface as a description: Make sure you add a checkbox specifically asking the user of the form if they consent to you storing and using their personal information to get back in touch with them. The checkbox must be unchecked by default. Also mention if you will send or share the data with any 3rd-parties and which. And the check box for the user to tick should have the following text: By using this form you agree with the storage and handling of your data by this website. I think that should be enough to be compliant.  Do you need more details? Cheers Joerg

Thank you Nikola! I’ve implemented and tested it. Works.

However, same as the terms and conditions the string (label?) of the field is going beyond my bootstrap form. Can you please add a wrap to the both strings at the form?
