google calendar synch issue – appointments created by others not shown

Hi Nikola, Thanks for a very nice and practical plugin. I have installed the extension plugin and the google 2 way synch is working fine, with one exception in which I would like your help. In my google calendar, I have some appointments that are being added/created by a third party that I am working with (an online directory that my business is featured in). These appointments do not get synched with easy appointments. I have found a way around it, by creating a duplicate of the appointment (a feature that google calendar has in the options of every appointment). This duplicate then shows up as created by me, and is then synched with easy appointments. Can you suggest a way to solve the issue, so that I don't have to duplicate every appointment created by a third party in my google calendar?  Hope the above is clear. Thanks in advance, Kostis

Hi Kostis, can you please tell me more about those third party appointments creation? Are those within you Google Calendar or they are on different place? Best regards, Nikola

Hi Nikola, thanks for your response. I will try to be as clear as possible, since I have no expertise in all these technical stuff.

This 3rd party is a directory website, in which people can go and book appointments with doctors. Each doctor has a timetable with available slots. Someone can book an appointment with me from that website and then that appointment shows up in my google calendar through a 2 way synch between the website and my google calendar. Through that synching, their website can "see" my other appointments (the ones I personally have created in my google calendar) and mark them as unavailable (one way synch), and at the same time create an appointment that a client made on their website and put that on my google calendar (two way synch). In a way, what I get with that 3rd party is very similar to what I get with your plugin, only not via my website (as I do with easy appointments) but via theirs. If it helps, the appointment that is created by that website, shows up in the details of my calendar as "created by admin@doctoranytime.gr (i.e. the website email)". For some reason, it seems that the easy appointments plugin cannot "see" the appointments that this website email creates on my google calendar.

Perhaps I need to tell them to change something in their setup, or perhaps I need to change something in my google calendar settings, but I don't know what.

Thanks again for your time and effort to find a solution, Kostis

Hi Kostis, can you please show me the print screen of one of those Events created by third app? It should be the same as regular Events inside Google Calendar. Also can you please tell me have you filled out part of Extension settings called Advanced Calendars sync ? There you can map different Calendars with different services etc. Best regards, Nikola

Hi  Nicola, Here is the appointment as it is shown when added by the 3rd party (you 'll see that it says "Created by: Doctoranytime"). This is the one that easy appointments cannot "see".

https://screenshots.firefox.com/LBqukuYtpGLsUYzG/calendar.google.com And here is the same appointment as it is shown when I duplicate it (an option that opens up in every event if you press the three vertical dots in between the "delete" and the "X" icons at the top right of each event). This is the one that easy appointments "sees". https://screenshots.firefox.com/2g6oEPs6dKpGFi0f/calendar.google.com As for the Advanced Calendars sync, I have not used it because in the drop down menu it only gives me the option of ONE Google Calendar (the so called "Primary"), so I thought it wouldn't make a difference. See the print screen of the Advanced Calendars sync option here:  https://screenshots.firefox.com/ipQUIJi9l8AScmTH/www.tsarpalis.gr Can you make anything of all the above? Thanks and best regards, Kostis

Hi Kostis, I think I know what is the issue there. You have more then one calendar inside Google Calendar settings but you don't have write access to them? Is that correct? Best regards, Nikola

Can you please take a screen shot of Calendar list with those colors?

Best regards,
Nikola

Hello Nikola, Yes, correct: I do not have write access to the appointments created by doctoranytime. Here is a screenshot of my calendar. https://screenshots.firefox.com/fLa19mvoEpY6gk8R/calendar.google.com

When I click on the appointment, I see this.  https://screenshots.firefox.com/loOltiIfapzVQzut/calendar.google.com The reason you see two appointments, is because I duplicated the one that came from doctoranytime so that this time slot is shown as busy in my Easy Appointments calendar. My calendar is synced with my wife's. She sees the same info with a small difference: "Created by admin@doctoranytime.gr", not "Created by doctoranytime".

I hope this helps to solve the puzzle. Kostis

Hi Kostis, you will need write access to those Calendar in order to see them in Advance sync options so you can map there and have import from them. After you do that you will be able to see it here https://screenshots.firefox.com/ipQUIJi9l8AScmTH/www.tsarpalis.gr :) Best regards, Nikola

Ok Nicola, I get it. I will try what you said by contacting the 3rd party and making the necessary changes and I will take it from there.  Thanks for your support! Take care, Kostis
