Support forumBookings that exist on google calendar
Darren Nicholson asked 4 years ago

Needing an answer pretty soon to this question as I have a site waiting to go live apart from the booking section. I bought your premium connect section and tried to sync calendars.
My client already has a calendar with bookings on it but the appointments sections isn’t syncing and blocking out the times. Does it actually work? I thought it was a 2 way connection in which if you change anything on the calendar it will reflect on the appointments and block out the time.

Hi Darren, it should work 2 way. But can you please check if there are some notifications in top of the EA Extension settings page?

Best regards,
Nikola

HI Nikola, sorry forgot to register. There isn’t any message at the top as I’ve disable the WP Cron. It works fine making appointments in EA but when I add something on the google calendar it doesn’t show or block out time. Do I need to tag it??

Hi have you filled out Advanced Calendars sync in Extension Google settings page? There you need to map particular Google calendar to Location-Service-Employee.

Nikola

I’ve mapped out the service and location but kept the worker as any. Will I need to map the three workers?

Nikola Loncar Staff replied 4 years ago

Hi, you can leave that field with Any value but then email from Worker must match email on event during the import. So email of person that created an event in GCal must match email within EA in order to import that during sync. Best way to make sure is to map with exact worker (email) instead of any.

Nikola

Hi Nikola, thanks again for response. So I have three workers that share the one email address. When you say event where do you mean and where do you set the email on EA? Sprry for all these questions.

Nikola Loncar Staff replied 4 years ago

I was talking about Events created in Google Calendar directly. Person who created that have email address as owner on that Event. That email must match Workers email inside EA in order for sync job to pull it inside. 🙂

Great thanks, so how will it work if the three workers all use the same email address? Is there anyway that we can block out one of their times? and leave the others available?

Nikola Loncar Staff replied 4 years ago

huh, it will be impossible because all appointments are going to synced with first email match. Best way is to have it separate emails.

Nikola
