Hi, The system works ok. Only in the "confirmation e-mails" I have added the cancellation link, not in the "admin mails". Half of the bookings are cancelled automatically, and people don't even click on the cancellation links. This unwanted cancellation of the easy appointments app happens only with:

hotmail
live mail
msn mail

I figured that those mail systems silently check the links even when the user doesn't click on them, but this is very annoying. Wordpress newsletter also has an unsubscribe link, but this is not triggered automatically without clicking after opening the e-mail. Is there a solution to fix this please, withou having to delete the cancellation link as this is awesome ? Thanks for your great plugin ! p.s.: I consider a paypal donation when this bug is fixed;)

New : it happened now with gmail !
I didn’t understand why my appointment disappeared and now I know ! Please include the validation with gmail in your future release…

Hi, I have added fix for this in new version 2.1.2 . There is check for crawlers/bots and ignoring those requests. Please update and let me know if it working fine on hotmail, msn etc. Best regards, Nikola

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

I performed the update.

Unfortunately, when I book an appointment with a hotmail address, and I open the e-mail in my mailbox without clicking, it is cancelled automatically.

I’m looking really forward to a fix for this.

Other plugins like “the newsletter plugin” also have unsubscribe-links in their e-mails, but they are not activated by opening the e-mail in Hotmail. Maybe you can take a peek at their php code for this 😉

You can check yourself. Make a booking with anyemail@hotmail.com, and it will be cancelled immediately.

I have excluded bots and crawlers but looks like it is not using that signature for user agent field. Is free that “the newsletter plugin”?

Hi,

It’s a free plugin.

When you install it, and take a predefined newsletter template, it will have an “unsubscribe link”.
This is not automatically triggered by hotmail and msn.

Hi, Are you able to solve this major bug in futur updates please ? It is very annoying for people that the "cancel appointment link" is triggered automatically in Hotmail, Msn, Live, .. thanks

Hi, I just tested the cancellation e-mail now on hotmail, and it still cancels automatically. :( I am considering to buy the professional extension, but with this major bug still lurking in the shadow, I will have to postpone this. Can you please try to fix this ? As said earlier, there are lots of WP-plugins with automatic e-mails, that do not trigger automatically the cancellation link when viewed in hotmail, msn or gmail. thanks
